What makes Rx Green’s approach to cannabis cultivation unique?

Rx Green Technologies is doing more than just selling great products. We provide a path to success via customer service from a cultivator’s perspective. This has enabled me to deliver a high level of customer support with product trials, cultivation operations, and technical assistance with our coco coir and nutrients. I am here to help!

Garden Pro Tech Tips: Answering Common Questions from Growers

What are the most common mistakes cultivators make during the early stages of plant growth?

Not properly hydrating coco coir before and after planting is a common mistake I often see during the early stages of plant growth. Whether you are using compressed coco, Ready-To-Use bags, or loose fill coco in pots, having a balanced media environment is crucial to ensure your root zone thrives.

What should growers prioritize when dialing in their nutrient regimens?

It is important that growers prioritize mastering the basics and build from there as needed. An optimal balance of macro- and micro-nutrients is available in both our dry and liquid fertilizer lines. From there, growers can also lean on additives such as Bulk for PK boosts in mid-late flower, which will support resin development in buds.

E-Plus 2.0 is another favorite of mine and can be used throughout the entire cycle. E-Plus contains yucca as a natural surfactant, kelp to feed your plants, and molasses to feed microbes, such as beneficial bacteria and mycorrhizal fungi.

How can growers ensure a smooth transition from veg to flower?

A “one and done” style of planting clones directly into the pot makes for great efficiency. Potting once into a bag where it will remain for the entire cycle has helped me maintain smooth transitions from veg to flower.

This helps to avoid stress or shock from transplanting or up-potting, and from disrupting the root zone. The savings on time and labor can be redirected into other aspects of the garden to drive even more efficiency.

What’s the most underrated environmental factor in cannabis cultivation that you think gets overlooked?

Airflow is often one of the most overlooked aspects of cannabis cultivation. It is important for the air to continually move to keep your mechanicals running efficiently, and for your sensors to obtain accurate readings. Breaking stratification is crucial, especially with multi-tier racks. It helps with turgidity, which makes your plants stronger, and also allows for CO2 to mix and circulate so that it can be absorbed by the stomata on the bottom of your leaves.

From a disease perspective, good airflow will help prevent stagnant pockets from occurring in your canopy, which can lead to mold and disease. There are a number of good ways to lay out different fan types.

What sets Rx Green’s nutrient line apart from others on the market?

Rx Green’s nutrient line is a well-rounded and complete program, designed for ease of use. Scientific trials have been conducted extensively to develop our lines with the grower in mind.

Our standard feeding chart will put your garden in a sweet spot, won’t clog your lines, and can be easily adjusted in strength depending on your plant’s needs. Our feeding charts were created with a great deal of thought towards simplicity and rapid plant development.

Can you walk us through how a grower might use Rx Green products from seedling to harvest?

By adjusting EC/PPM, our veg and flower recipes can help your plants thrive throughout their entire life cycle. During seedling stages, as young plants develop their first “true” leaves, or as your clones are rooting, a light feeding of Grow 2.0 Parts A and B, and E-Plus 2.0 will provide the nourishment needed for rapid and healthy growth.

This is especially important as your roots grow and search for water and nourishment. Progressively raising your EC/PPM as your plants mature helps them metabolize, bringing explosive growth.

As plants move into flower, our recipe shifts focus from vegetative growth to generative growth, aiding in rapid flower onset. Keeping E-Plus in place while moving to Bloom 2.0 Parts A and B, along with our PK Booster, Bulk 2.0, will shift your recipe to a generative approach and help your flower reach maximum potential.

Are there any recent product updates or innovations you’re particularly excited about?

The 2.0 fertilizer line from Rx Green Technologies has been a game changer for our liquid nutrients. We worked in tandem with chemists and cannabis growers to meet the plant’s needs and dial in the reformulation. If you liked the 1.0, you will love the 2.0!

Our dry nutrients are highly soluble, providing an even mixture and clean lines that won’t clog, condensate, or fall out. Our liquid recipe has evolved to the next level and comes with simple but proactive feeding charts. They each bring a practical approach to developing high-end cannabis without overspending.

What’s your go-to advice for growers seeing slow growth or yellowing leaves?

Flush, dry back, feed, and measure your runoff. Replacing the nutrient content that your media is holding, along with washing out any potential salt buildup up is a great starting point. It is important to ensure that your pH is in the correct range for nutrient availability.

Overwatering or underwatering may also be a culprit. Overwatering causes a lack of aeration and makes it difficult for the plant to uptake nutrients. Underwatering can lead to slow or stunted growth. Ensure your watering program is in a good place.

How do Rx Green products support plant health under stress (e.g., heat, transplant shock)?

E-Plus is a fantastic additive to support plant health and mitigate stress responses. Its kelp contains nitrogen and chelating agents that improve the availability and uptake of nutrients and increase flower onset. This supports plant growth by increasing yields, enhancing resistance to drought and frost, and accelerating recovery from stress.

Though it contains only small amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, seaweed is valued primarily for its powerful growth-stimulating properties rather than its use as a conventional fertilizer.

What tools or data points do you recommend growers use to monitor their success in the garden?

Probes and sensors are a fantastic way to monitor your EC/PPM and moisture content. Observing your moisture levels on a graph really tells you the story and shows you what is going on. I use Aroya sensors to monitor levels in real time, and use a portable meter to conduct spot checks.

Knowing your precise temperature and humidity levels throughout the day/night cycle is also key. Having sensors in different locations throughout your room can help you track individual areas as well as give you averages.

In my garden, and when conducting site visits, I carry a tool kit with me that has an Apogee Instruments Quantum Flux PAR sensor to measure light intensity in and around the canopy, an infrared thermometer to read leaf surface temperature and other room surfaces, a Fluke temperature/humidity meter for environmental readings as well as for equipment calibration (such as dehumidifiers), a probe to read water temperature, pH, and EC/PPM, an anemometer to measure air flow, and a soil probe that reads EC and moisture content in the root zone.

Growing cannabis is a mix of art and science, and analyzing your data can help you create a masterpiece.
